Unusually high waves have been wreaking havoc on Peru’s northern and central coasts.

Video from Friday shows massive waves rolling over sailboats, swallowing jet skis and crashing into the Peruvian coast as onlookers scramble away from the rushing water.

The waves are expected to continue for another week, according to the Peruvian navy.

The sea surfs have prompted authorities in the South American country to close 80 ports and several beaches.

Despite hitting coastal fishing communities hard, no fatalities have been reported in the country due to the unusually high swells.

Videos of the area show wreckage on the shores of the beaches and flooding on nearby streets.
